Sequoyah Regional Library System - Imagine Your Story Summer Reading

Summer Reading Program 2020

By Amie Esposito, Publisher - Canton- Woodstock-Cumming Macaroni Kid May 29, 2020

This summer, Sequoyah Regional Library System invites you to track your reading online. Participate in challenges, record your reading, and earn badges. Adults, teens, and children can participate individually or as a family, completely free of charge. The fun begins on June 1 and goes all through the end of July! There’s something here for all ages, so get ready for a fun reading adventure! Take charge of your very own reading quest and Imagine Your Story this summer.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Your summer reading quest takes place on Beanstack, a free online portal that offers book and activity logging, recommendations, and reviews. Beanstack includes tools to help you and your family discover books, keep track of your reading, and set reading goals. Log your reading minutes to earn badges, participate in bonus challenges for extra rewards, and post reviews of titles for other adventurers to read! Beanstack can be accessed by visiting our official SRLS webpage or downloading the app available for iOS and Android. The SRLS Beanstack webpage will become active once the Summer Reading Program begins; please continue to check back.

WHY SUMMER READING?

It’s not a myth. Summer vacation is a ton of fun, but can also lead to a three-month loss of learning called the Summer Slide. Participating in the Summer Reading Program allows you to set reading goals for you and your family and keep your brains active all through the season. Set your household up for success by logging your reading minutes, developing new skills, and imagine your own stories.
