Easy Snowflake Ornament Craft

By Amie Esposito, Publisher - Canton- Woodstock-Cumming Macaroni Kid December 1, 2019

Each year I love making homemade ornaments for our Christmas Tree with my kids. We've made handprints on globe ornaments, pinecone ornaments, ones made with the kid's pictures, filled them with fake snow or glitter. We've also made them from dough and used cookie cutters to shape them then painted them once they were dry.

One of my favorite ornaments to make that is so easy is the Snowflake Ornament. It's made with only 4 items and is so easy for all ages!

What you'll need:

  • Popsicle sticks
  • Clear glass gems
  • Craft glue/hot glue
  • Ribbon - I use 1/4 inch holiday ribbon

You start by glueing two popsicle sticks together in an X shape, then glue the other two popsicle sticks one by one on to the X shape in a + to make the snowflake shape.

Once dried/set you can add the jewels to the arms of the snowflake starting from the very center and working your way out each "arm" of the snowflake.

Once complete you will then take ribbon and cut it to the length of how long you want the ornament to hang and create a loop and glue to the top of one of the snowflake arms.

Once complete you have a beautiful Snowflake Ornament. I write each child's name on the back with a marker and the year they made it!
