Brecht Stables Adventure Based Summer Camps,
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy & Therapeutic Horseback Riding
At Brecht Stables our Therapeutic Riding programs and camps give the rider a different, and enjoyable outlet to traditional therapy. Therapeutic horseback riding, also known as Equine Assisted Activity or Adaptive Riding is for individuals with a broad range of physical, emotional, cognitive, and social disabilities. Overnight camps
Special needs overnight camp- June 10-16 and June 18-24, 2018
Experiential sleep away camp for kids and adults with special needs. We are a clinically informed camp where therapists, special ed teachers and nurses are your campers direct staff. We work with parents and camper’s current therapist to achieve preset goals throughout the camp week. We have treatments teams each night to assess how the day went and write discharge summaries.
While the campers are learning how to shoot the yellow minion monkey jumpers with a bow and arrow, how to be a proper knight, taking hiking trips to find Big Foot and learning the stories of the great Native Americans on the rock formations and shooting blow darts at the pop-able paint balls or a 3-man sling shot over the bunk house with their friends, we are adapting every activity so the campers can be successful, make lasting friendships and improve self-confidence.
Overnight Camp will meet at 6737 Concord Rd Cumming, 30028 at Brecht Stables & Dustin's Place to pick up and drop off campers. Then we will bus campers and staff to New Beginnings Youth Ranch in Clarkrange, TN. New Beginnings is a 200 acre working cattle ranch with separate male/female sleeping quarters.
