My kids (keep in mind I have an 8 yr old boy as well) played for hours with each doll's interchangeable pieces where they could switch the gift boxes as well as hair and other accessories. The Hotel & Spa as well as the Double Decker Tour Bus made for great imaginative play. I sat listening to the kids talk about where the dolls were traveling to and how one would "teach" the other doll about it's home and things that were special about that area. For such little toys, they sure do make a big impact.
There are 84 collectible dolls that come from all over the world. Each doll has an educational aspect. Each Gift 'Ems box has the dolls city/country of origin on it as well as the flag so the children can learn about where they come from. Gift 'Ems are also rated on a rarity scale. So as with many other collectible items, kids will get excited about their new Gift 'Ems in hopes that the next one will be the "rarest" of them all.
In the 3- pack we received, my son was most excited about the snowboarding Gift 'Ems doll. I love how even though these might be considered girl toys, my son loved playing with them as well. As did many of the kids from the Holiday Toy Preview Party.
