31st Annual Riverfest Arts and Crafts Festival Set for
September 26—27, 2015
The 2015 Riverfest Arts and Crafts Festival is scheduled for Saturday, September 26th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, September 27th, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The popular Riverfest event, presented by the Service League of Cherokee County, will take place at Boling Park in Canton, GA along the picturesque banks of the Etowah River. Riverfest is a juried show, featuring original, creative, handmade work from artisans all over the region. Additionally, the event showcases extraordinary entertainment throughout the weekend - live music and dancing - as well as a fun-filled children's area where children of all ages can participate in a number of kid-friendly rides and activities.


Patrons, new and those returning, are invited to save the date for Riverfest, the Service League’s largest annual fundraising event, with all proceeds benefiting the needy children of Cherokee County. Those traveling during the September Fall break from school will want to include plans to come home to Riverfest…“Home is where New for 2015, the Service League is adding a Community Expo area to offer non-profit organizations/service providers in Cherokee County an opportunity to exhibit informational materials. The Expo will provide exhibitors a venue for recruiting members and volunteers and to connect with those in need of services. Riverfest has become for many families a not-to-be-missed event for kicking off the fun of the season as the cooler, crisp days of autumn arrive. This year’s festival will feature more than 200 arts and crafts exhibitors, concessionaires and entertainers, with many returning favorites as well as several new and exciting exhibitors and features, which have been added to this year’s show. The League latest cookbook, Gatherings & Traditions, will also be available at the event. Samples of select recipes will be presented to festival patrons for tasting, and cookbooks will be available for purchase.


The Service League of Cherokee County is one of the oldest service organizations in Cherokee County, with a membership of 100 women who work year-round, collectively volunteering more than 10,000 hours per year to raise funds for needy children throughout Cherokee County. Funds raised during Riverfest and other fundraising events sponsored by the League provide day-to-day necessities for families such as food, clothing, dental care, eyeglasses, medical care, rental and utilities assistance, scholarships and much more. Admission to Riverfest for adults and children 11 and older is a $5 donation. The event will take place rain or shine. Free parking and shuttle services are available. Dogs are prohibited in the park by city ordinance.
