REVIEW: MicroTouch Switchbladeâ„¢

November 2, 2013

As with many men, finding the right, simple trimmer can always be a challenge. Hey ladies, maybe you've been looking for one too? No, I didn't intentionally leave you out. Feel free to give the MicroTouch Switchblade™ a shot yourself. I just happened to have my husband test this one out simply because, well, I don't have that much "fuzz" on me.

First off, let me inform you that my husband truly despises anything that requires batteries. Not that any products that have batteries (including the MicroTouch Switchblade™ ) aren't good unless they have a plug. My husband just finds batteries "wasteful".  It's an ongoing joke in our home. Don't get me started on the discussions that happen at Christmas time. So, the MicroTouch Switchblade requires 2 AAA batteries. The battery slot is easily accessible to open, load and latch closed. I am curious how many uses he will get out of a new set of batteries.

Once we got those evil little energy sucking torpedoes in there my husband was off to the races to give this thing a run for it's money. Did I mention he had been growing his facial hair out for a while all in preperation for Halloween? For those of you wondering, he was Mario from Super Mario World.

Ok, back to the reveiw. As you can see the MicroTouch Switchblade™ fits comfortably in one hand and is easily maneuverable to get to the spots a man needs to trim most. Around the lips, chin, ears, hairline. Oh, yes, ladies, even the nosehair. My husband didn't test that part out. Or at least if he did, he didn't want me to share that. It did it's job and then some. I'm not much of a facial hair fan. But, if you're gonna have it, it aughta look good and the MicroTouch Switchblade™ did just that.

My husband did mention at one time the motor sounded like it was really getting a work out. But honestly he's a joker. I stood by and watched. The trimmer did a good job "shaping" his facial hair just how he wanted it.

In addition, a couple other cool features of the MicroTouch Switchblade™ is that it can stand alone. As you can see below. In my opinion, it's good to store things like this standing up. I think it aids in drying if there happens to be moisture. It's also a good size to fit in travel toiletry bags. In addition, it can switch from a micro-groomer to full-size trimmer with a flip of the head cover (see last photo).

Overall, I would say for the price you're paying, this is a good trimmer especially for travel. My husband travels a lot for work. It's a compact, neat, easy to clean tool that anyone can work.

I would recommend the MicroTouch Switchblade™ as a great Holiday gift. Perfect as a stocking stuffer.
