It never fails. Your kid forgot about a social studies assignment that’s due tomorrow morning. The library is closed, but your child’s teacher requires the use of credible resources, all correctly cited in a bibliography.

Find everything your student needs for February’s Black History Month homework assignments in World eBook, including information on Guion S. Bluford and Mae C. Jemison, the first African Americans to go into space.

What do you do?

Sit your child down with a World eBook encyclopedia from the online collection at the Forsyth County Public Library. You’ll find age-appropriate scholarly articles on topics from the Civil Rights Movement and Martin Luther King, Jr. to astronomy and the human exploration of space.

Simply log in with your FCPL library card account and search by keyword, category, or grade level to find information on animals, literature, health, history, mathematics, mythology, science, and more.

Publication and bibliographical information for citations are provided at the beginning of each article. The end of each World eBook article also includes a list of recommended reading and additional resources on the topic, as well as a glossary, so your child can understand and explore each topic in greater depth.

The eLibrary is open 24/7, but sometimes you need a print book, CD, or DVD. Forsyth County Public Library’s collection includes a wide variety of reference materials for students of all ages.
